Will AI Take Over All Human Skills and Jobs?

Will AI Take Over All Human Skills and Jobs

Tech companies are replacing humans with AI. They are replacing those who created them. Even human resources management is under threat because they are now being replaced by AI. Creative work, all passed on to AI. Manual entries, all to AI. So, tell us, ‘Is it still too early to say that I-Robot is soon to be a reality for all of us?’ Or maybe we all are expecting way too much? You might shrug off this thought, but this question will still linger in your mind. ‘What if’, this phrase will frighten you. Yes, the rise of artificial intelligence or AI has sparked one of the most pressing debates of our time. Millennials to Gen Z, are equally worried about their position in the future. Will they survive or lose their future to a mechanical thing?

So, tell us, ‘Are you also wondering if AI is actually a real threat to our skills and our jobs? Or is it a catalyst for a new era of opportunity?’ Let us tell you, your fear is real because AI systems have become smarter and more accessible. They are everywhere, from industries to your day-to-day life scenarios. It’s a new reality of our life that we can’t deny.

Corporate Soldiers analyzed your worries and brought a detailed view of your perspective! Let’s see if AI is a threat or an opportunity for you!

Whether AI is a Threat or Opportunity?

No wonder AI makes everything easy for us, especially when we want to save time on our usual tasks or things. But no matter how trivial a thing sounds for us can cause worries later on. Now we are happy that we can use AI’s ability in our favour. It is automating tasks for us. AI has this greatest strength but this speciality is what might be problematic for us. Why?

On one hand, AI-driven automation handles every task that usually takes several hours. Did not understand? Wait let us elaborate. So, each day, you perform the same task and on the same routine and you can’t avoid it such as data entry or similar tasks like that. AI has the power to handle these repetitive, routine, and data-intensive tasks with speed and accuracy. No doubt it can handle those repetitive tasks better than us. So while AI is doing the menial but important task for us, we can focus on other things that are more creative and important.

However, this same capability of AI is what makes us all worried. The worries and fears of widespread job displacement. AI is actually eating your jobs, especially entry-level and routine jobs in sectors like manufacturing, customer service, banking, and logistics, which are particularly vulnerable.

We are not claiming it, but some studies suggest it. So, according to these by 2030, AI could automate up to 30% of tasks currently performed by humans. This means 300 million jobs are at risk and about 14% of all workers already experiencing some form of displacement globally. It’s no more a dictionary tale now, isn’t it?

AI is Learning Faster Than Us:

We, humans, take time when we learn any new skill. We perceive it, practice it and polish it through the years. On the other hand, AI does it in minutes. It’s our new future, where robots and smart computers can do almost anything we can. Just like what Isaac Asimov used to mention in his novels.

‘The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.’ – Isaac Asimov

Remember these lines? How farsighted he was! He was stating the simple facts that he had been observing all his life and he wasn’t wrong. It is the saddest fact of our lives. AI is gathering information about us, being faster than us. But who is feeding this data into it? We are. So, if there are worries rising that humans might start losing touch, it’s not a farfetched theory.

So, if a super-smart AI can tell doctors what to do or bankers how to invest, will the doctors and bankers of the future really learn to think for themselves? Maybe they’ll just rely on the computer’s answers, and a whole generation might miss out on real experience and gut feelings.

Nothing is All Doom and Gloom:

Did we make you tremble with fear? Hold your horses readers, it’s not all doom and gloom! Remember way back when machines first started doing factory work? People were equally worried about losing their old skills just like we are now. Earlier they used to stitch things by hand. Surely people lost their jobs, but new jobs also popped up. People had to build and fix the machines and figure out how to use them. Nowadays, using AI is similar. Sure, some jobs might change or even go away, but new ones are already showing up. People who can understand all the data AI spits out or those who can work side-by-side with these smart machines or even just people who know how to use all this new tech, will be the new job gainers. So, it’s not really about losing all our skills, but more like our skills are changing, like they always have.

New Roles and Jobs:

As we said, it’s not the doomsday yet. On the contrary, AI can be useful for job creation. No, no, this isn’t the deceitful promise. The World Economic Forum and McKinsey Global Institute both believe that AI will generate millions of new roles by 2025. Even if we compare the data it will actually outpace the number of jobs lost. Let’s see what will be the new opportunities!

There Are Many Challenges For Us:

All we can say now is that there will be a bit of a bumpy road ahead for us. Since robots and AI can automate most of our tasks, a lot of people will be left in a tough spot. Especially people who don’t have the chance to learn new skills or older generations who can’t cope with so many changes. However, if we’re not careful about AI, it might evolve too much and go beyond our control. Plus, sometimes it’s hard to even know why an AI makes a certain decision. So, monitoring it is the most important job for people.

So, what do we do? Well, we need to be ready for this change. We need to keep learning new things and upgrading ourselves with new skills. Also, we need to make sure these AI brains are built with good rules, so they remain fair and helpful. Of course, the transition to an AI-driven economy is not without risks as job displacement can lead to social and economic disruption. Especially for already vulnerable populations and regions that depend on automatable jobs.

So, Tell Us, ‘Is AI a Threat to Human Skills and Jobs’?

Yes and no! We wish the answer to this question was so simple, but it’s not. It is complex. No doubt that AI is disruptive, with the potential to automate millions of roles and alter existing human skills. However, let’s look at the other side of the ground. There will be more opportunities for job creation and productivity. After all necessity is the mother of invention, isn’t it?

So, dear readers! The real threat lies not in the technology itself, but in our response to it. Let us all keep learning, nurture ourselves and surpass our human limits! Let us make AI a complement, not a replacement of all our human skills.
