What Is the Delhi Industrial Policy 2026?

The Delhi industrial development policy is a 10-year framework designed to attract investment and promote technology-driven, knowledge-based, and cleaner industries.

It aims to support new businesses, modernise existing enterprises, and strengthen sectors such as IT, healthcare, data centres, and advanced manufacturing.

What Financial Incentives Does the Policy Offer?

The policy outlines financial support for infrastructure, office rentals, recruitment, and technological upgrades.

Eligible IT and digital services businesses can receive a 25% digital infrastructure investment incentive, capped at ₹10 crore, or ₹12 crore for women-led enterprises.

Reported provisions also include office rental assistance of 40%, capped at ₹2 crore, and bandwidth and cloud service support of up to ₹10 lakh annually for two years.

GCCs can receive digital infrastructure incentives of up to ₹50 crore, rising to ₹60 crore for women-led enterprises. Hiring incentives of ₹1 lakh–₹1.2 lakh per new hire are also reported, subject to policy conditions.

For MSMEs, technological modernisation incentives can cover 25% of eligible investment, capped at ₹5 crore, or ₹7 crore for women-led enterprises.

How Could the Policy Affect Jobs and Businesses?

The policy links business incentives with recruitment, infrastructure investment and technological modernisation.

Eligible IT businesses can receive ₹40,000–₹50,000 per new hire, while qualifying GCCs can receive ₹1 lakh–₹1.2 lakh per new hire.

These incentives could encourage business expansion and recruitment. However, actual investment and job creation will depend on implementation and business participation.

What Is ‘Invest Delhi’?

The proposed ‘Invest Delhi’ mechanism, operating through the Delhi Udyog Mitra Portal, aims to help businesses with site selection, regulatory approvals, incentive applications, and grievance redressal.

Its effectiveness will depend on implementation and how efficiently businesses can access these services.

What to Expect from the New Policy

After Cabinet approval on October 14, attention will turn to implementation and detailed incentive guidelines.

Businesses should monitor official Delhi government announcements for eligibility requirements and application procedures.

The Delhi Industrial Policy 2026 aims to attract investment and strengthen Delhi’s industrial ecosystem through a ₹1,000 crore scheme allocation and incentives for eligible IT companies, GCCs, and MSMEs.

Its impact will depend on effective implementation, investor participation, and measurable growth in investment and employment.
