Gurugram, September 16, 2026: The Gurugram biker hit-and-run case has taken a serious turn. 33-year-old Kalyan Bainsla has been arrested in Rajasthan. He has been charged with attempted murder after a woman biker named Sia was allegedly hit on Golf Course Road.
Police busted Bainsla on Tuesday, 15th of September, after teams tracked him to Rajasthan. As per reports by Gurugram Police, his mobile phone was switched off, and he allegedly left the area immediately after the incident. The accused was eventually apprehended in the Dausa-Rajgarh area.
This hit-and-run case is already gaining a lot of attention on social media. The video captured the whole scene of rash driving by the accused when he hit Sia with his vehicle. The public is enraged and demands justice for the victim.
This case comes under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with attempted murder.
What happened on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road?
On Sunday, September 13, a woman biker identified as Sia, also named as Shivani Chauhan, was riding her bike, Aprilia RS 457, accompanied by other riders on Golf Course Road.
Her camera was mounted on her bike, as she always shoots her riding videos. And then a car allegedly followed the group on the road while shouting names and making gestures. Then they shifted solely to Sia and struck her motorcycle, after the rider was thrown onto the roadside and her motorcycle was dragged some distance.
The camera was still shooting the entire scene, which eventually became the core evidence of this case. Gurugram Police arrived on the scene for investigation and registered a suo motu case at Sector 56 police station. The biker was admitted to the hospital.
The woman’s statement later became part of the investigation; she accused Kalyan Bainsla of stalking, acts against the modesty of a woman, and attempted murder in her FIR.
Why was an attempt-to-murder charge added?
Later on, police also reported the accused for rash driving and causing severe injuries to the victim. Police later reinvestigated the CCTV footage and concluded that the circumstances warranted adding Section 109 of the BNS, the provision dealing with attempted murder.
Gurugram Police officials have registered that the vehicle was consciously driven into the biker. DCP (East Gurugram) Sandeep Kumar said the investigation indicated an intention to cause fatal harm, while the police also cited the victim’s account in reaching this stage of the investigation.
Under Section 109 of the BNS, an act carried out with the intention or knowledge that, if death resulted, it would amount to murder can attract imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine.
In addition, it has been stated that a criminal investigation does not establish guilt in the accused. This is a case of attempted murder. Kalyan Bainsla’s vehicle was reported to be in the best condition, which means his car was in full control, which police say supports their allegation that the collision was deliberate. The allegations will ultimately be tested through the legal process.

Kalyan Bainsla Arrested in Rajasthan
Hit and run accused Kalyan Bainsla fled the scene and was traced by three teams of police in Rajasthan.
He was eventually arrested in Rajasthan on September 15. Reports said police located him in the area between Dausa and Rajgarh. Another man was also arrested with him.
The reports stated that it was a white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz registered in Palwal and belonged to an Army personnel posted in Assam.
Bainsla had borrowed the vehicle right before the incident.
Accused allegedly tried to escape using a ‘urination’ excuse
The accused asked the police to stop the vehicle as he wanted to urinate. He took the chance and attempted to flee. While trying to escape, Bainsla suffered minor injuries and was taken for medical treatment. An additional charge was put on the accused for attempting to escape custody. Bainsla has reportedly denied intending to hit the motorcycle. Police, however, are examining the video footage, the victim’s account, and witness statements as part of the investigation.
